Chrysogonum virginianum, the golden-knee, green and gold, or goldenstar, is a North American species of plants in the family Asteraceae. It is native to the eastern United States from New York State and Rhode Island south to Louisiana and the Florida Panhandle. The species is sometimes grown as a perennial ornamental because of its showy flowers. It is usually propagated by root cuttings. Flower heads are produced singly or in pairs, yellow, with both ray florets and disc florets.
